Hey MT, thank you for sharing. My wife and I have two daughters, 20 & 18, who need to read your experience. We have always preached: live a reality-based life. That can be very difficult in the social media-saturated world they live.

Oh my gosh Michelle!

So you KNOW my namesake dad because you worked with him and I love him dearly; he famously told me as a 12 year old 130 lb kid that I was “too fat” to play football. Can you say “CALL THE WOKE POLICE”!!!!

My Mom loved me, but SHE wouldn’t let me become the heavy metal master guitar god I wanted so desperately to be so she had the nerve to FORCE me to NEVER have long rocker hair, go to UVa, play football, and get a degree.

You know what all that “abuse” did? It gave me a chance to be a role model of some good utility to 5 boys, 2 of whom are grown men making valuable contributions to society.

So as it turns out, my fat-phobic dad and “non-tolerant of satanic guitar gospel music” mom made me what I am today.... a 26 year husband, father, and human being with a deep love of family and strong faith.

All because they busted my tail... OFTEN....

And to think that anyone with adoptive parents would throw shade.... well I guess that’s how you become an unemployed former quarterback who never came close to reaching his potential....

God - I wish I had HIS ability.... and I am totally jealous of his corn-rows.....

Yeah, every time I hear the phrase 'white privilege' my eyes roll. I was one in 1970 when our father left. We had a average house my mother couldn't afford and my father didn't send support. She was a nurse(4 yr degree) and didn't get paid squat compared to today. She couldn't afford day care so I learned how to cook for myself and do basic laundry by the age of 8.

My brother and I are both veterans and generally successful in business with families of our own. We both agree that our childhood's were rough at times but ideal considering there are few problems we cannot handle. Personally, I wouldn't change it for the world and especially for cretins who call me white privilege.

Hey Bud - I hope you are telling G-d some good football stories! What a guy! 2015/16 NFC Championship at TCF Bank, -15F, and Bud is wearing a polo t-shirt! That is the upper midwest discluding our large cities!
