Are You Ready For Some Football?!
As I write this week’s newsletter I am watching the Divisional Playoffs. This is my favorite weekend of the NFL season.
Anticipation is also building for the dawn of a new era: a return to the White House by Donald J. Trump. And, for the first time in years, I am honestly excited and optimistic about our country’s fortunes.
We can already see evidence that people are responding to Trump in a way that is different from his first term.
For example:
Charlamagne Tha God, a “friend” to Kamala Harris, said this week that he "never called Donald Trump a fascist based off anything I heard from Democrats. I said that because of the things I heard come out of Donald Trump's mouth. Right. But guess what? I don't even know if I believe it anymore," adding, "But only because of how they're, only because of how they're acting. I'm like, well, God, maybe it ain't that much of a threat."
When asked if he was surprised that Trump won the November election, J.P. Morgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon told 60 Minutes, "No… People wanted kind of more pro-growth and pro-business policies; they didn't want to be lectured to on social policies continuously. I think it's the lecturing part of it—the social superiority, it's the 'My way or the highway.' I traveled around the country. I felt it wherever I went."
DEI departments are dropping like flies. Tech titans who once banned Trump from their platforms are donating to the inauguration. Even Democrat Senator John Fetterman made a trip to Mar A Lago.
Trump has assembled a star-studded cabinet. And Republicans hold the House and Senate. The next one hundred days are going to be a whirlwind.
Meanwhile, we had a star-studded week on the podcast.
Will China Eat Trump’s Lunch?
