FIRST FLIGHT SINCE MASKS CAME OFF!
My best estimate is that 30-40 percent of passengers are still wearing masks. Thier CHOICE.
The entire experience — from stepping foot inside the airport, to getting on the plane — is just happier!
I think it’s because you can see faces again. Which means people can exchange smiles and hellos.
And a lot of people ARE smiling and saying hello. People are able to recognize people they know at the airport, stop and exchange greetings.
A man sitting next to me on the plane has had FOUR passengers recognize him and say, “Hello, Tom” as they boarded. I asked Tom if he thought they would have noticed him sitting there if he was still wearing a mask. “No,” he said.
Freedom makes people happy. Freedom to wear a mask if one chooses, freedom not to wear a mask if one chooses.
We feel like we are in America again and not living under an authoritarian dictator.
And the DOJ can try to overturn the judge’s ruling that allowed us to take off our masks… but I bet the DOJ drops that idea. People are too happy. And we would not be happy being told to put them back on.
So wear a mask if you choose.
Oh, and guess what?? No one is attacking anyone for wearing a mask.
Paul Krugman had it wrong again.
