Maybe I was naive or ignorant…
I grew up with parents who loved America. My dad, an aerospace engineer, helped build the space program. My mom, a Spanish teacher, lived in Mexico for a year and learned firsthand how good she had it as an American citizen.
Wilma and Orlando Tafoya raised their four kids to appreciate how lucky we were to have been born in the USA. And they were correct.
But no country is perfect. And while I love my country now more than ever, I understand that there is corruption in government and hypocrisy in politics.
But I could not have imagined hearing a story like that of Martha Byrne and her husband, Michael McMahon, an NYPD hero who has been targeted.
I could not have expected the explosion of hypocrisy from the mouths of Democrats in the wake of a successful bombing of nuclear facilities.
Fortunately, a few good men (and women!) buoyed my spirits this week on the podcast!
